I would beg the dt devs to get hired by adobe or develop LR plugins that do all that cool stuff that dt can do.All-in-One: Photo Editor, Batch Editor, Photo Viewer, Cut Out, Collage Maker, Animated GIF Creator, Combine, Print, Screen Capture, Color Picker, RAW image and More. It pained me to realise just how good a workflow can be - and in relation how utterly crampy the dt UI is compared to a workflow application that is actually focused on the workflow instead of funky algorithms. The integration, features and sheer joy of not having to deal with dt's - uh - clunky UI is saving me more than 10USD worth of time and money every month. I still miss darktable for a few things (parametric masks!!!! :'-( ) but if I want to get work done and have the knowledge that my pictures are backed up and accessible mobile in the cloud, then those 10USD / month absolutely pay off.ĮDIT: To clarify: it costs me more time and money to work around dt's limitations and to create and sustain a cloud-based backup - and there is nothing that comes close to dt on mobile to my knowledge. I have since subscribed to the Creative Cloud services and am extremely happy.

I got a mac with the clear goal to run dt on it, but performance has been atrocious and display bugs made working with dt on macos bad enough for me to reconsider Lightroom. IRC veterans: connect to :6667 and join #photography
